Meet Oral Surgeon Dr. Imray
Dr. Scott W. Imray is a board certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon practicing in Jacksonville, Florida since 1994. He has been married for over 38 years and has two grown daughters and 3 grandchildren. He grew up in Bardstown, Ky.
Dr. Imray received his BS degree in Biology from the University of Kentucky in 1977. He received his DMD degree from the University of KY College of Dentistry in 1980.
Dr. Imray was in private practice for 18 months before receiving his commission from the US Navy in 1982. He received his oral surgery certificate upon completion of his Oral Surgery residency at Bethesda Naval Hospital in 1989. Following 12 years of active duty, which included a tour as department head at Naval Hospital Pensacola Florida, and the USS Forrestal (CV-59), Dr. Imray left active duty and entered private practice in Jacksonville, FL in 1994. He stayed in the US Naval Reserves until he retired in 2001 with the rank of Captain. He became board certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1993 and achieved recertification in 2001 & 2012.
Dr. Imray is a diplomate of the American Board of Maxillofacial Surgeons and a fellow of the American Association of Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is the past and current chairman of the Oral Surgery Department at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. He is an anesthesia inspector for the Florida Board of Dentistry. Dr. Imray is past president of the local dental societies (JDS & NEDDA), as well as a member of the ADA, FDA, CCDA, FSOMS, AAOMS, ABOMS, FDSA, and ACD.
Dr. Imray is active in his community and local church and has held leadership positions in the Rotary Club of West Jacksonville as well as the local Boy Scouts. His hobbies include golf, traveling, boating, and spending time with his family.
